OUR story

Located in the heart of the historic district in downtown Natchitoches, Merci Beaucoup has been a local hot spot for lunch since opening in 1991. Johnny Wayne & Rose Cox started the restaurant in the early 90's on Front Street, and after a few years relocated to our present location, 127 Church Street, next to the old Nakatosh Hotel.  Johnny Cox Jr. now owns and operates Merci Beaucoup Restaurant with Rose Cox next door at Merci Beaucoup Gift Shop in the renovated Nakatosh Hotel.

Open 7 days a week for lunch, Merci Beaucoup's menu offers of a variety of Cajun and American food to choose from, along with many dessert choices and our great tasting lemonade-flavored tea. We are known for our prompt service, friendly wait staff and one-of-a-kind delicious family recipes.

Merci Beaucoup is the place to "see and be seen" at lunch in historic downtown Natchitoches every day of the week. Customers from around the world have savored our homemade Gumbo, the signature Cajun Potato, and homemade Orange Dressing. For dessert, you must try our famous Bread Pudding.
